Born in 1970 in Rognac, C\u00e9dric Bouteiller is a multifaceted artist: painter, photographer, and graphic designer. Based in the south of France, he creates a resolutely contemporary body of work that bridges disciplines and techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trained in fine arts and philosophy in Aix-en-Provence, he began his career in photography before setting out on a round-the-world trip. From that journey, he brought back a rich collection of images, which remained on hold for a long time, while he simultaneously explored the realm of abstraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her fateful encounter with Zao Wou-Ki marked a decisive turning point: it steered her toward a lyrical abstraction, further shaped by the influences of Antoni T\u00e0pies and Pierre Alechinsky. In Arles, her exchanges with Lucien Clergue further deepened her artistic reflection, leading her to rediscover Pablo Picasso and the poetic world of Jean Cocteau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For nearly twenty years, he patiently developed his visual language through rigorous training and a constant exploration of techniques and materials. It was ultimately by revisiting his own photographic archives that he achieved a unique synthesis of his various artistic practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u00e9dric Bouteiller\u2019s ultra-modern works take the form of digital photographic compositions printed on brushed aluminum, enhanced with collages, drawings, graffiti, or watercolors, and then coated with a translucent resin. This process gives his creations a unique depth and brilliance, where time seems to stand still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the intersection of painting and photography, his work explores our perception of reality and blurs the boundaries between figuration and abstraction. Through the interplay of layers, textures, and material effects\u2014achieved primarily with a knife or palette knife\u2014he transforms the image into a living surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mastering digital media as a true pictorial medium, he captures the essence of iconic locations such as New York, Shanghai, Paris, and Marseille, as well as fragments of everyday life. A glance, an architectural detail, a sign, or a simple graffiti tag become the elements of a poetic and contemporary visual narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, C\u00e9dric Bouteiller\u2019s work is exhibited internationally, from Venice to Los Angeles, and from Athens to Mykonos. His artistic universe, both sensory and conceptual, carries a distinctive signature, where material, light, and image interact in a constant tension between memory and modernity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
